Spectroscopy and Kinetics Unit

THE UNIT IN 2014

The Spectroscopy and Kinetics Unit provides ICIQ researchers with technical support in different spectroscopic techniques as well as in kinetic reaction mechanisms studies. The Unit gives support in the design of the experiment, the data treatment and the fitting of the kinetic data.

In 2014 the Unit started working with the Omnical Calorimeter (formerly belonging to another Unit) to follow reactions through their heat flow. Also ,a new device to monitor reactions in the middle Infrared range was acquired: A ReactIR 15 from Mettler Toledo.

Finally, a new routine FTIR spectrometer was acquired: The Cary 630 from Agilent with an ATR and a transmission accessory to measure liquid samples at different pathlenghts.
